CHAPTER 1: BREE
I watched from the back of the room as the bride and groom said their vows, wondering if there was a dry eye in the room. Mine certainly weren’t. Their vows had been very personal, tugging on the heartstrings and making me glad that love like that truly existed.
They kissed, and I clapped along with the rest of the party, stealing out before they walked down the aisle as husband and wife. Another successful wedding, another check in the bank. In four months, I had seen more weddings than I cared to keep count, our website full of wonderful reviews that were rapidly making this venue wildly popular. Already we were filling up next year’s calendar, and I hoped that we would be able to remember them all.
With a heartfelt sigh, I made my way through the vineyard and down the path toward my new home, the guest house behind the large estate home that the Temples’ resided in. After Jackson and I had made our relationship public, we had moved out here with their blessing, Jackson wants to be close to his parents and myself, well, I still had a job to do. Most would think that since I was dating a billionaire, that I would give up my post at the vineyard and do whatever billionaire girlfriends did.
But not me. I loved my work with the venue and the vineyard.
Pushing open the front door, I walked into the warmth of the small cottage, shedding my coat as I did. The weather had turned cold early considering it was only October and I was betting that in another month, we would be watching out for the threat of snow. Currently, the vineyards were bare, the last of the grape leaves turning brown and breaking off. It would be months before we would start the entire process all over again and I couldn’t wait.
Jackson was seated at the kitchen table, his laptop before him and his cell to his ear, his tense words telling me that something was wrong yet again. I stopped and admired his profile, my heart clenching as I told myself that he was all mine. These last four months had been magical, both Jackson and myself attempting to learn each other as adults now. It was more than just in the bedroom, where our sex life was fabulous by the way.
No, it was learning each other’s likes and dislikes, how Jackson took his job very seriously as did I, but there was so much that was still there, and I couldn’t be happier that we had found each other again. Waking up next to Jackson was unbelievable, and I felt my love for him grow leaps and bounds each day.
“Shit.”
Snapping out of my thoughts, I watched as the object of my desire run a hand through his hair roughly, slamming the phone down on the table with the other. Without so much as a hesitation, I walked over and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, giving him a hug. “Bad day?”
“The worst,” he muttered. “Damn New York sector is falling apart, and I had another person quit. What the hell are they doing over there anyway?”
“I’m sorry,” I said, kissing the top of his head lightly. “Anything I can do?”
He sighed loudly, leaning his head into my stomach. “No. I’ll figure it out.”
I released him only to step into his line of sight, giving him a soft smile. “I can order pizza.”
He chuckled, some of the aggravation melting from his oh so gorgeous face. “Hell no.”
I grinned as he stood, my pulse starting to beat slowly as I took his body in. I knew that body better than my own now, and I loved every bit of it. Literally. “Perhaps there’s something else I can do then.”
A spark appeared in his eyes as he looked at me, knowing exactly what I was thinking. That was one thing I loved about our relationship. We could always figure out what the other was thinking, the link between us bound tightly even after all these years apart. “We have dinner with my parents in an hour.”
A corner of my mouth lifted. “An hour?”
“Yeah.”
I walked toward him, steering clear of him at the last moment, my fingers drifting over his shoulder lightly as I passed. “An hour is more than enough.”
He growled, and I couldn’t hide my grin as I walked back to the bedroom, the clothes already starting to come off as I did. I couldn’t get enough of Jackson no matter how much I tried. Each time we came together, it was like the first time all over again, and I think we had all but christened each surface in this cottage. I should be ashamed, but I wasn’t.
Reaching the bathroom, I stripped off my panties and threw them on the floor, reaching over to cut on the warm stream of water for the large walk-in shower, allowing it to heat the space. Jackson’s hands found my breasts before I had a chance to step in, pressing me against the shower door lightly as he ground his body against mine. “You are a tease, you know that?”
I gasped as I felt him pressing against my ass, my body reacting thusly. “Y-you like it.”
He chuckled, his hands lazily roaming down my body, over my stomach and to the vee between my legs, where he found me already wet and willing. “Damn Bree.”
I could echo that sentiment if I could find my voice, my legs shaking as he backed off, allowing me to step into the steaming shower stall. Jackson closed the door, and I found myself backed against the cool stone, staring into his beautiful eyes.
“You unman me,” he whispered, his hand coming up to cup my cheek lightly. “I don’t think I will ever get enough.”
“I-I hope not,” I answered, wrapping my arms around his waist and pulling him close.

CHAPTER 2: JACKSON
She had no idea.
I kissed her hard and fast, my cock rearing to go along with the rest of me. I felt like every time Bree was around, I had a hard-on, and there were times when we weren’t alone that I had damn near embarrassed myself.
She moaned in my mouth as my hand traveled over the familiar territory until it reached the warm, wet center, the pulsating showerhead only adding to the wetness. “Yes,” I said against her lips, my finger finding the hard nub in her folds. “Just like that babe.”
Bree pressed against my hand and started to move, urging me to touch her more and more, which
I happily obliged. Soon, she was shattering around me, her sobs swallowed up by the water that was falling all around us.
But I wasn’t done.
With a growl, I slid into her hard and fast, gripping her hips to slide home. Her eyes flew open, and I grinned as she quaked around me. “Damn,” I said, keeping her gaze.
“Jackson,” she gasped, arching against my intrusion. “God, you feel.”
“Good,” I finished for her, starting to move within her. “Damn good.”
She nodded, and I thrust into her, burying inside until I couldn’t go any longer. She quivered around me, her hands clutching at my shoulders as I made her orgasm again, her screams nearly deafening in the small space.
I pumped harder, feeling my own orgasm shake my body a moment later, burying my face into her stomach as I let go. For a moment, we just stayed like that, her hands roaming over my head lightly and delving into my hair. “Jackson.”
I looked up into the still heated eyes of the woman I loved. “What?”
“I think you can let me down now.”
Chuckling, I eased out of her and slid her down the stone wall, gathering her into my arms, my chin resting on the top of her head. “I think we should do that every day.”
She giggled. “We do do this every day.”
“Oh yeah,” I sighed, my body sated. “But not in the shower.”
She laughed and pulled away from me, grabbing the washcloth that was hanging on the shower. I did the same, and soon we were both soaped up, the afterglow still in her eyes. These last four months had been the absolute best reconnecting with Bree, learning more about her as an adult than I had ever as a kid. For instance, I knew now that she snored like a grown man when she was exhausted and that she cried over the stupidest parts of movies. She was competitive, loving the fact when she beat me in whatever we were competing in.
But the most important thing I learned about Bree, my best friend, was that she loved fiercely and deeply, and I was so grateful that she had chosen me to be the object of that love.
Reaching out, I grabbed her around the waist and pulled her to me, nibbling on her earlobe. “Do you know how much I fucking love you?”
“I can guess,” she laughed, pushing out of my grasp. “Come on, let me finish, or we both will be using cold water.”
Grinning, I let her go, watching as she finished washing off before stepping out to towel off, leaving me to finish by myself. I stepped under the spray and closed my eyes, thinking of my life now. Gone was the big city, along with my creature comforts of having a coffee shop around the corner or entertainment when I needed it.
Now I was closer to my parents, which was a plus. After their marriage, they had decided to stay in the main house, giving me the guest cottage so that Bree and I could move in together. She was ecstatic to be so close to what she loved, the vineyard, and I was just damn happy to have her with me all the time.
But there was still a piece of me left in New York, one that I doubted would ever change truthfully. While I had sold my place in the Hamptons, I had kept my apartment, hoping that I could take Bree there on occasion. We hadn’t mentioned my move or my work, but damn, it was a site harder now.
The water started to turn cold, so I shut it off, stepping out of the shower as well and reaching for the towel she had left me. I would stay here if it meant to keep Bree happy. She had been my missing link, and now that I had her, I had no intentions of letting her go.
I toweled off and walked naked into the bedroom, where Bree had already thrown on a pair of jeans and a sweater, the weather starting to turn unseasonably cold. “What did you do? Press a button or something?”
Her eyes roamed over my body, including my rapidly growing cock and smirked. “Maybe I shouldn’t have.”
“Minx,” I threw out, walking over to the closet we shared. While the guest cottage was good for now, I was already making plans in my head to build my own house on top of the cliff she and I had frequented in our past. It was our favorite place, and the view was damn near amazing. My father was already working with the owner of the land to turn the damn thing over, and I hoped they did it before the first of the year so I could surprise Bree on her birthday.
Until then, it was big ass secret.
Pulling out some clothes, I threw them on and looked back at Bree, who was pulling up her hair. “You ready?”
She pulled the ponytail out and gave me a smile. “You know it.”
I grinned as she took my hand and together we walked out of the cottage. Damn it was good to be me right now.

CHAPTER 3: BREE
I picked up my wine glass and grinned as I watched my father and Jackson’s father carry on like they were old pals, so glad that his family had accepted my dad and me. The first month I wasn’t so sure, the elation of being back with Jackson coupled with the newlyweds’ glow enough for all of us to get along together.
But now all of that had worn off, and everyone still liked each other, which was good.
“Well now,” Jackson’s mom stated, placing her hands on the table and standing. “I believe Bree and I will leave you men to your port.”
“Who drinks port nowadays,” Jackson grumbled with a gleam in his eye.
His mother gave him a look as she passed and I pressed a kiss to his cheek as I walked past. “Be nice,” I whispered.
“Always,” he said, patting me on my butt.
I gave him a look to rival his mom’s as I walked out behind her, catching up with her in the hall. “Men,” she stated with a smile. “They are always talking business.”
“It’s all they know,” I offered up as we walked out to the extensive garden behind the estate, the roses starting to die off in the sudden cold snap.
“Business and us of course,” she laughed, tucking her hands in her pockets. “I have to admit, Bree my dear. You are so good for my Jackson.”
I gave her a smile, knowing where this conversation was headed. “I love your son.”
She stopped before a fountain and looked at me, her eyes bright. “I know you do and I cannot imagine any other woman good enough to keep him happy. I am so grateful that he came and found you.”
“He has not proposed yet.”
She frowned, either at my words or that I had beat her to the punch this time. “Well, whatever is he waiting for?”
I laughed. “We have only been dating four months.” I wasn’t expecting a proposal anytime soon, though I imagined I would say yes if it did happen. I loved Jackson more now than I think I ever had, surprised by the way he had inserted himself into my life and in every existence.
She waved a hand at me. “But you have known each other a lifetime at least. There’s no reason to wait.”
I grinned then. “I can’t make Jackson propose any more than I can make the vineyard grow in the winter, Edith.”
Edith smiled as well. “I guess you are right. I just, it’s just an old woman hoping for a future for her son. And grandchildren, lots of grandchildren.”
My grin stayed, but my stomach churned at the thought of children. What would I be like as a mom? I mean, there have been times over the years where I would see a baby and think what it would be like, but the thought was just a fleeting. I hadn’t anticipated children.
“Why are you holding your stomach?”
I looked down and realized I had put a hand over my stomach protectively as if there was a baby growing there now. “Oh, I’m not.”
Edith laid a hand on my arm, a smile on her face. “Oh, I know you aren’t, Bree.”
I swallowed, my mind frantically thinking whether or not I had taken my pill this morning. “W-what?”
She shook her head. “You don’t have the glow. Trust me, I would know.”
Edith walked on, and I stared after her, wondering what kind of woman I was up against with Jackson’s mom. Our relationship had transformed from employee/employer to now mom of my boyfriend. I hated to admit the fact that it was easier than I thought
it was going to be to call her by her first name.
But right now, she was going to be the death of me.
***
Later that night, I lay in the bed, starting up at the ceiling. My mind was still on the conversation with Edith earlier, the one where she had pretty much laid out my future for me and left me with more questions than answers. “Jacks,” I whispered, not wanting to wake him up if he was already asleep.
“Why are you whispering Bree?”
I turned on my side and propped up on my elbow, seeing that he was watching my every move with sleep-heavy eyes. “I didn’t want to wake you if you were asleep.”
He arched a brow. “Do you really think I can sleep with you tossing and turning like that?”
I pushed on his shoulder, my heart fluttering as he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it, his warm lips reminding me of what he had done with them earlier.
And they hadn’t been on my hand.
“What is it? There’s something on your mind.”
Pulling myself out of the warm infused thoughts, I drew in a breath. “Do you want kids?”
His hand tightened on mine, and I could see the dawning horror on his face. “Are you?”
“No, no,” I said, a bit relieved that I could say that. “Sorry, that didn’t come out right.”
He propped up then, his eyes searching mine. “My mom talked about grandchildren again, didn’t she?”
I bit my lip and nodded. “A lot.”
He sighed, his thumb rubbing the back of my hand lightly. “I mean, I really hadn’t thought about it.”
Something ached in my chest unexpectedly as I thought about him as a dad. He would be a great dad. “But now?”
He shrugged, reaching out to play with a strand of my hair. “Do you want kids Bree?”
I didn’t really know what to tell him. Now the thought of seeing Jackson as a dad appealed to me, greatly.
